Through being the producer of “The Polish Cooking Show” on PBS, I was introduced to the culinary side of the entertainment industry. It’s a fascinating field.
There is no one personality type that is destined to “make it” as a celebrity chef, but I can certainly say that the bigger-than-life personalities tend to be the ones that stand out the most.
I recently had the chance to sit down with celebrity chef Robbie Shoults to talk about his home base – Bear Creek Smokehouse. Robbie is a bigger-than-life personality, and it shows in his enthusiasm about his restaurant and related businesses.
You may have seen Robbie on the “TODAY Show”, “Rachel Ray”, or The Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay”. He’s a fun-loving guy, with a hardworking attitude.
Located in East Texas amid rolling hills and pastures filled with longhorns, Bear Creek Smokehouse is a lot of things to a lot of people. As a smokehouse, the business is a Texas legend when it comes to smoked meats.
Famous throughout the country for its seasonal smoked turkeys, Bear Creek Smokehouse serves in-person and online customers with a selection of the best smoked meats and other delicacies.
In addition, Shoults and his family have a hopping restaurant on the property – serving up a variety of comfort foods including their signature barbeque. It’s top-notch eating in a beautiful rural getaway.
In fact, Bear Creek even has a vacation getaway house on the property. Available to book through Vrbo, the Shoults family offers Cottage at the Creek – a 3-bedroom escape from city life.
My conversation with Robbie is featured on this week’s episode of the popular entertainment news podcast “It’s Showtime with Rikki Lee”. It’s a half-hour audio tour of a world a few steps down the road from city life. You’ll hear about great food, great fun, and great people. It’s a recipe for success.
It’s Showtime with Rikki Lee is available on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. We aim to be your backstage pass to all things entertainment. You are sure to enjoy this week’s episode.
